Key Personnel

Paul Goodey

Managing Director

Paul arrived in Australia in 1978 after a 4 month trip riding his motorcycle from England. He has been involved with the Engine Reconditioning and Marine industries for over 32 years and has applied his hard learnt business practises to Hotstart Software.

Married with three children Paul enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, playing and watching various sports and the outdoor life. Paul has a Private Pilot's licence but says that riding his motorcycle still gives him his thrills.

Paul Walker

General Manager

Paul first started using computers in December 1982 as a teenager. He then found some commercial experience in 1985 as a work experience student. This then became his full-time career in 1988. Paul has now amassed in excess of 28 years of computer experience in many areas. This makes Paul a key member of the Hotstart staff.

Paul is married with 2 young children. Spending quality time with his family is a great pleasure to him.

Like all geeks, Paul is interested in almost anything to do with computers. Surprisingly, he also has interests in other areas like bushwalking, geocaching, homebrew beer and home coffee roasting. He is also a keen Fremantle Dockers supporter (yes, even when they lose!)

Ralph Reid

Sales & Marketing

Ralph has worked in the automotive industry for the last 40 years. His business was one of the first to implement computers in the workshop. He is a past chairman of the Engine Reconditioning Association and still assists with updating the ERAA AutoSpecs program.

He is board member of Variety WA and between helping the charity, plays golf and tennis.

Rob Hart

IT Engineer

After discovering a love and aptitude for building and programming computers during high school, Rob studied for his Certificate IV in Computer Systems Engineering at Swan TAFE. Having achieved his qualification Rob came to Hotstart, where he has now been working for over 7 years.

Apart from spending his spare time messing around with computers (like most Techies), Rob is also a passionate home brewer, producing his own label "Halfluck" from his home shed. Rob produces a wide variety of beers (including one named for his gorgeous adopted Kelpie cross Nugget) and red wine and is a member of the West Coast Brewers Club.

Rachele Goodey

Rachele has been working alongside her husband Paul at Hotstart Software for 11 years and has worked out how to keep both him and the accounts under control.

Her working background includes clerical/receptionist and radiology assistant duties. She also works part time as a Pre-Primary Education Assistant and full time as a cook, cleaner, taxi driver, mother of 3 and general domestic organiser. Like most women she is competent at muti-tasking and, if she finds time to relax, enjoys reading and travelling. Her dream job is to be a professional wine taster!
